HOW TO SUPPORT TRAILS

How to Support Trails on Cape Breton Island:

Trails are the gateway to the natural world that surrounds us. That world, so very different from the world we daily occupy in the workplace or in the classroom, provides both stimulation and relaxation. Trails travel through areas that would be either extremely difficult to access or impossible to access without the benefit of a pathway to it and through it. Trails feed our minds through the observations and study of the plants we encounter alongside trails and the wildlife heard or seen near or on the trails. Trails provide a recreational outlet unparalleled for its health benefits - mental, physical and spiritual - without which our lives would be very much the poorer.

Trails, however, do not build themselves and require dedication to begin and complete. Without your assistance, existing trails will fall into disrepair and new trails will not be built. Your support, either financially through membership and donations or by your volunteer efforts assisting to construct or maintain trails ensures this legacy for all generations. Your support of trails development counts.

There are trail groups wherever you live. Why not become involved with one or more of them and show your support by becoming a member, participating in trail events and perhaps, by volunteering some of your leisure time to contribute to a lasting tribute to man’s love of the out-of-doors.
